Plans change. Eventrise gives you four controls for an event's life after it's live, and each one does a different job. You'll find them all in one place.
Where are they?
Open your event and go to Settings › Event lifecycle. There's also a Close event button at the top of every event page.
What does Unpublish do?
It takes the public page down and returns the event to Draft. Everything you've set up is kept, and you can publish again later. You can only unpublish before the first order. Once someone has bought a ticket, use Close or Cancel instead.
What does Close event do?
It stops new ticket sales while everything else keeps running, including the event page, check-in, orders, refunds, and reports. Use it when you want to stop selling but still run the show. You can undo it any time.
What does Cancel event do?
It permanently cancels the event. Every order is refunded in full, fees included, and every buyer is emailed. This can't be undone, so be sure. If you're only moving the date, see What do I do if I need to postpone or cancel my event?
What is the settlement lock?
After your show, you can lock settlement to take a snapshot of the show's profit and loss and freeze the numbers that feed it. That includes comped tickets, fee changes, finance entries, and budget rows, so the settlement you agreed on doesn't shift. Refunds are still possible, and they're recorded as adjustments.
The lock becomes available once ticket sales have ended.
