How do I connect Eventrise to Claude and other AI tools?

Use Eventrise's MCP server to let an AI assistant read your sales, look up attendees, and take actions with your permissions.

Eventrise runs its own MCP server. In plain terms, that means an AI assistant like Claude can connect to your Eventrise account and help with real work, like pulling sales for a show, creating a promo code, or looking up an attendee, without you clicking through screens.

What is an MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to tools and data. Think of it as a plug that fits between your assistant and Eventrise.

How do I connect Claude?

This is the easiest way, and it doesn't need an API key. You'll need a Claude plan that supports custom connectors (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise) and an Eventrise account with a role on at least one organization.

  • In Claude, open Settings › Connectors and select Add custom connector.

  • Set the URL to https://mcp.eventrise.com/mcp. Leave the OAuth Client ID and Client Secret blank, because Claude registers itself.

  • Select Add, then Connect. A window opens on the Eventrise sign-in page.

  • Sign in with your Eventrise account, review what Claude is asking for, and select Approve.

When the connector shows as Connected, start a new conversation and try "List my Eventrise organizations."

Can I use other tools?

Yes. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and the MCP Inspector connect with an API key. See How do I create and revoke an API key? Step-by-step guides for each tool are in the developer docs at app.eventrise.com/docs/mcp, which you can open once you're signed in.

What can an assistant do?

Quite a lot. It can look at your events, orders, and attendees, run sales and payout reports, create and change promo codes, approve or decline refund requests, and work with your finance ledger and seat maps. It's easiest to start with a plain request, like "How are tickets selling for Friday's show?"

Does it follow my permissions?

Yes. The connector acts as you. Every request is checked against your role, so an assistant can only do what you can do when you're signed in. Event-scoped roles only reach their assigned events, and it can't reach organizations you aren't part of.

What can't it do?

A few things always need a person. Managing API keys, connecting Stripe, and adding or removing team members can't be done through the assistant. Most file uploads, like event banners, also need to be done in the app.

How do I see or remove access?

Open your profile, then My Profile › Integrations › Connections. You'll see each connected app, what it can access, and when it was last used. Revoke an app's access there, and it's signed out and stops reading your data right away. You can also remove the connector in Claude under Settings › Connectors.

What if something doesn't work?

Start a new conversation, since Claude loads the tool list at the start. Check that the address is exactly https://mcp.eventrise.com/mcp, and allow pop-ups for claude.ai so the sign-in window can open. If a request says you don't have permission, your role on that organization doesn't allow it. An Owner or Admin can change that.
