How do I sell tickets from my WordPress or Elementor site?

Install the Eventrise WordPress plugin to add your events, a calendar, and Get Tickets buttons to any page. Works with Elementor and other page builders.

If your site runs on WordPress, our plugin puts your events and a Get Tickets button on any page. Buyers check out in a window on your site, so you never send them away.

How do I install the plugin?

  • Install it. In WordPress, go to Plugins and add a new plugin. Search for Eventrise, then install and activate it. It needs WordPress 6.4 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.

  • Connect it. Open Settings › Eventrise and enter your organization's slug, the part after eventrise.com/ in your organizer page address. We check it when you save. You don't need an API key.

  • Add a block. Each option below is a block in the WordPress editor, and a shortcode for page builders like Elementor or Beaver Builder.

What can I add with the plugin?

  • Events. Your upcoming events grouped by day, each with a Buy Tickets button. It can also show a calendar, with a switch between list and calendar view, and a featured strip at the top. You can hide any of those, choose the default view, limit how many events show, and rename the headings. The featured strip needs your organizer page turned on.

  • Get Tickets button. A button that opens checkout in a window.

  • Inline checkout. Checkout built right into the page, growing and shrinking to fit.

  • Event cards. A grid of cards for your events.

  • Auto-link. Any link to your Eventrise checkout opens in the window. Links to your event pages on eventrise.com can too: turn on Open event page links in the checkout popup in Settings › Eventrise. It's already on if you first installed the plugin at version 1.5.0 or later.

How do I add a Get Tickets button?

Add the Get Tickets block to any page, or paste the shortcode. Leave out the parts you don't need.

[eventrise_button event="your-event-slug" label="Get 4 tickets" promo="GROUP" ticket="TICKET_ID" quantity="4"]

label sets the button's text. promo applies a promo code, and ticket and quantity (1 to 20) pick tickets for the buyer. The easiest way to get it right is to copy it from the WordPress tab under Embed Event in your event, with your choices already filled in. See How do I preselect a promo code or tickets in embedded checkout?

You can also link any button on your site to your checkout address. The plugin opens it in the window by itself.

How do I put checkout right on the page?

Add the Inline checkout block, or paste the shortcode. With autoheight on, it grows and shrinks to fit checkout.

[eventrise_embed event="your-event-slug" promo="EARLY" autoheight="1"]

The inline shortcode can apply a promo code but can't pick tickets. To pick tickets in inline checkout, use the code from the iFrame tab in Embed Event instead.

How do I add checkout with Elementor?

Install the plugin first. Elementor needs it for the Eventrise widgets, and the free version of Elementor is enough.

  • Add a widget. In the Elementor panel, open the Eventrise category and drag Eventrise Buy Tickets (a pop-up button) or Eventrise Checkout (inline) onto your page. There are also Eventrise Events and Eventrise Events Grid widgets for your event list.

  • Paste your event slug into the widget's Event slug field. The Elementor tab in Embed Event has it ready to copy. Set a promo code or ticket in the widget too.

Already have a Button widget? Set its link to your checkout address, and the plugin opens it in the window.

Without the plugin, it takes two steps.

  • Add the script. Paste it into an HTML widget on the page. With Elementor Pro, you can add it once for your whole site under Custom Code instead.

  • Link a Button widget. Set its link to your checkout address. It opens in the window by itself, and you can add a promo code or tickets right on the link.

<!-- HTML widget, once per page (or site-wide Custom Code on Elementor Pro) -->
<script src="https://checkout.eventrise.com/embed.js" async></script>

<!-- Button widget, Link -->
https://checkout.eventrise.com/checkout/your-event-slug?promo-code=GROUP

On Elementor Pro, you can also open your event page link in the window instead: add the attribute data-eventrise-checkout to the button under Advanced › Attributes.

How will the plugin look on my site?

It uses Eventrise's own styling, kept separate from your theme so your theme can't scramble it. You can restyle it with CSS variables that start with --eventrise-. Times show in each event's own time zone, your event details refresh about every five minutes, and on phones checkout opens full screen.

Does it work with my cookie consent plugin?

Yes, if your consent plugin supports the WordPress Consent API. The Eventrise plugin follows each visitor's choice. It remembers their campaign only once they allow statistics cookies, and uses ad click ids only once they allow marketing cookies.

Will my campaign tracking still work?

Yes. The plugin passes your page's UTM tags and ad clicks to checkout and remembers a visitor's campaign for 30 days, so the sale gets credit. It also reports purchases to Google Tag Manager, which you can turn off with Send checkout events to Google Tag Manager in Settings › Eventrise. See How do I track sales from embedded checkout?
