Plans change. Every control for an event's life after it goes live is in one place: open the event and go to Settings › Event Lifecycle. There's also a Close event button at the top of every event page.
How do I postpone an event?
Change the date and time in Manage › Event Details. See Editing your event details.
Tell your ticket holders. Eventrise doesn't email them when the date changes, so send the new date, and what they need to do, from your own email.
Update anywhere else the show is listed, like your website or social posts.
Even if your refund policy doesn't require it, consider refunding anyone who can't make the new date.
What does Close event do?
It stops new ticket sales while everything else keeps running: the event page, check-in, orders, refunds and reports. Use it when you want to stop selling but still run the show. You can undo it at any time.
What does Cancel event do?
It cancels the event for good. Every order is refunded in full, fees included, and every buyer is emailed. This can't be undone, so be sure before you confirm. A short note in your own words still helps your buyers.
Can I refund some orders myself instead?
Yes. Refund them from the event's Orders page; see Refunding a ticket. A refund you issue returns the ticket price, but platform and processing fees aren't refunded. To refund fees too, use Cancel event. Refunds usually take 5 to 10 business days to reach the buyer. When you're done, use Close event to stop new sales.
What does Unpublish do?
It takes the public page down and returns the event to Draft. Everything you've set up is kept, and you can publish again later. You can only unpublish before the first order. Once someone has bought a ticket, use Close event or Cancel event instead.
What is the settlement lock?
After your show, you can lock settlement to take a snapshot of the show's profit and loss and freeze the numbers that feed it: comped tickets, fee changes, finance entries and budget rows. The settlement you agreed on can't shift. Refunds are still possible, and they're recorded as adjustments. The lock becomes available once ticket sales have ended.
