What ticket pricing options can I use?

Free, one flat price, tiers that change by quantity or by date, and name your price. Here is how each one works.

Every ticket you create has a price type, and there are five to choose from. Pick the one that fits how you want to sell. You can find it on any ticket under Manage › Tickets › Add Ticket, in the Price & Quantity section.

What are the five price types?

  • Free. No cost to attend.

  • Simple price. One flat price per ticket.

  • Tier based on quantity. The price goes up as more tickets sell.

  • Tier based on time. The price changes on dates you set.

  • Name your price. Attendees choose what to pay.

How do quantity tiers work?

Add a tier for each price step. Each tier has an optional name, a price, and a quantity. The first tier sells until its quantity is gone, then the next tier's price takes over on its own. Eventrise shows the total quantity across your tiers as you build them, and you can add or remove tiers as you go.

A simple early-bird setup might be a small first tier at a lower price, then a larger second tier at your regular price. Treat that as a starting point and adjust it to your audience.

How do time tiers work?

Add a tier for each price change. Each tier has an optional name, a price, and a start date and time. When the start date arrives, that tier's price takes over. You don't have to do anything on the day.

How does name your price work?

Attendees pick the amount they want to pay when they check out. You can set a Minimum Price if you want a floor, or leave it blank to let people choose freely. This is a good fit for community events and pay-what-you-can nights.

Can I set a limit on how many tickets I sell?

Yes. Simple and name-your-price tickets have a Quantity Limit. Leave it blank for unlimited, or enter 0 to close sales on that ticket. For quantity tiers, the tiers' quantities set the limit.
